Celada del Camino

Spain

Celada del Camino is a municipality in the province of Burgos, within the autonomous community of Castile and León, Spain. It lies in the northern part of the country, in a region characterised by a continental climate and a landscape of plains and low hills typical of the Burgos countryside.

The municipality is small and rural. According to the 2004 census carried out by Spain's National Statistics Institute (INE), it had a population of 99 inhabitants. Its name, which includes the Spanish word "camino" (meaning "way" or "road"), reflects its historical association with a route passing through the area.

As with many villages in this part of Castile and León, Celada del Camino is administered as a municipality in its own right, with local governance centred on the settlement itself. Its very small population places it among the sparsely inhabited rural communities of the province of Burgos.
