Arganza

Spain

Arganza is a village and municipality in Spain, located in the region of El Bierzo. El Bierzo lies within the province of León, in the autonomous community of Castile and León, in the northwest of the country.

The municipality is made up of the village of Arganza together with the surrounding rural area it administers. According to the 2010 census carried out by Spain's National Statistics Institute (INE), the municipality had a population of 944 inhabitants, while the village itself had 245.

The difference between the two figures reflects the dispersed settlement pattern typical of the municipality, in which a substantial share of the population lives in smaller settlements and scattered dwellings outside the main village rather than in Arganza itself.
