Alba de Cerrato

Spain

Alba de Cerrato is a municipality in Spain, located in the province of Palencia within the autonomous community of Castile and León. It lies in the northern part of the country, in a region characterised by a continental climate and a landscape of rolling plains and farmland typical of the Castilian meseta.

Like many municipalities in this part of Palencia, Alba de Cerrato is a small, rural settlement whose surrounding territory is given over largely to agriculture. The province of Palencia as a whole is known for its cereal cultivation, and the area around the municipality reflects this agrarian setting.

Administratively, Alba de Cerrato forms part of the comarca of El Cerrato, a district that straddles the provinces of Palencia and Burgos and takes its name from the local terrain. The municipality is one of numerous small population centres that make up the province of Palencia in the Castile and León region.
