Ágreda is a municipality in the province of Soria, within the autonomous community of Castile and León, Spain. It lies in the eastern part of the province, near the border with the neighbouring region of La Rioja and the province of Zaragoza in Aragon.
The town is situated at the foot of the Moncayo massif, the highest peak in the Sistema Ibérico range, which rises to the north-east of the settlement. Ágreda sits at the confluence of several small rivers, including the Queiles, in a landscape of plains and hills typical of the eastern Castilian plateau.
Ágreda is known for its historic quarter, which preserves remains of its medieval past, including sections of old walls and several churches. The town's position at the meeting point of Castile, Aragon and Navarre gave it strategic importance during the Middle Ages.
