Escamilla is a municipality in Spain, located in the province of Guadalajara within the autonomous community of Castile-La Mancha. It lies in the central part of the country, in a region characterised by a sparse, rural population spread across numerous small settlements.
The municipality is small in size and population. According to the 2004 census conducted by Spain's National Statistics Institute (INE), Escamilla had a population of 108 inhabitants. This figure reflects the low population density typical of many municipalities in the Guadalajara province and the wider Castile-La Mancha region.
As a municipality, Escamilla holds the administrative status that in Spain denotes a basic local government unit with its own municipal administration. Its small population places it among the many minor municipalities that make up the province of Guadalajara.
