Romanos is a small municipality in the Campo de Daroca comarca, in the Aragón region of Spain. It lies within the historic Campo de Daroca area, a district of the province of Zaragoza known for its medieval heritage and sparsely populated villages.
The town was an important settlement during the War of the Two Peters, the mid-fourteenth-century conflict between Peter IV of Aragon and Peter I of Castile. Its strategic role in that war left it with a legacy of historic sites, including castles and churches.
Several of Romanos's monuments were among the 156 sites that the Government of Aragon presented to UNESCO for designation as historic protected sites. That protection was confirmed in 2001 at a UNESCO meeting held in Helsinki.
