Pertusa is a municipality in the province of Huesca, in the autonomous community of Aragon, Spain. It is located in the northern part of the country, within the comarca of Somontano de Barbastro.
The village sits in a semi-arid landscape typical of the Ebro Basin's northern fringes, surrounded by rolling hills and farmland. Its economy has traditionally been based on agriculture, particularly the cultivation of cereals, olives, and almonds, along with some livestock farming.
Like many small Aragonese municipalities, Pertusa has experienced significant population decline over the twentieth century as residents moved to larger cities. The village retains a quiet, rural character and preserves elements of its historical heritage, including the ruins of a medieval castle that once formed part of the defensive network along the frontier between Christian and Muslim territories in the region.
