Peralejos is a municipality in the province of Teruel, in the autonomous community of Aragon, Spain. It is a small, sparsely populated rural settlement typical of the Teruel area, which is known across Spain for its low population density and numerous tiny municipalities.
According to the 2004 census carried out by the Instituto Nacional de Estadística (INE), Peralejos had a population of 85 inhabitants. That figure places it among the smallest municipalities in the province and reflects the broader pattern of depopulation seen in much of rural inland Aragon during the twentieth century.
As a municipality, Peralejos holds the administrative status of a local entity with its own governing council, known as an ayuntamiento, despite its very small size. It lies within the province of Teruel, whose capital city of the same name is the provincial administrative centre.
