Malanquilla is a municipality in the province of Zaragoza, within the autonomous community of Aragon, Spain. It is located in the northeastern part of the country, in the Ebro River basin region that makes up much of Zaragoza province.
The municipality is small and sparsely populated. According to the 2004 census recorded by Spain's National Statistics Institute (INE), Malanquilla had a population of 132 inhabitants. Like many rural municipalities in inland Aragon, it is characterized by a low population density and a compact village settlement surrounded by open countryside.
As a municipality, Malanquilla forms part of the local administrative structure of Zaragoza province, one of the three provinces of Aragon alongside Huesca and Teruel. Its small population size places it among the many minor municipalities that make up the rural interior of the region.
