Fuendetodos

Spain

Fuendetodos is a town in the Campo de Belchite comarca (county), in the Aragon region of Spain. It is located about 44 kilometres south-east of Zaragoza, the regional capital. As of 2011, the town had a population of approximately 178.

Fuendetodos is best known as the birthplace of the painter Francisco Goya, who was born there in 1746. The town preserves its connection to the artist through the house where he was born, which now operates as a museum, and through a museum dedicated to his work.

The town sits in a sparsely populated rural area of Aragon, and its small population reflects the wider pattern of depopulation seen in many inland Spanish municipalities. Its principal significance today derives from its association with Goya, which draws visitors to the town.
