Cantavieja is a municipality in the province of Teruel, in the Aragon region of Spain. It is the capital of the Maestrazgo comarca, a comarca being a traditional administrative division used in Spain.
According to the 2004 census carried out by the Instituto Nacional de Estadística (INE), the municipality had a population of 740 inhabitants. This figure reflects the small, rural character of the settlement.
Its role as the capital of the Maestrazgo comarca makes it the administrative centre of that district within the province of Teruel.
