Boltaña is a municipality in the province of Huesca, in the autonomous community of Aragon, Spain. It is located in the northern part of the province, within the comarca of Sobrarbe.
According to the 2004 census carried out by the Instituto Nacional de Estadística (INE), the municipality had a population of 870 inhabitants. This figure reflects the small, rural character typical of many municipalities in the Aragonese Pyrenees region.
As a municipality of Huesca and Aragon, Boltaña is part of a sparsely populated area of northern Spain where local administration is organised around the municipality as the basic territorial unit.
