Balconchán is a municipality in the province of Zaragoza, in the autonomous community of Aragon, Spain. It is a small, sparsely populated settlement typical of the rural municipalities found in this part of northeastern Spain.
The municipality is administered as part of the Zaragoza province, one of the three provinces that make up Aragon. According to the 2004 census carried out by Spain's National Statistics Institute (INE), Balconchán had a population of 18 inhabitants, making it one of the smallest municipalities in the region by population.
Its very low population figure reflects the broader pattern of depopulation affecting many small rural municipalities across inland Aragon. The available records identify Balconchán primarily as a municipality of Zaragoza province with a recorded population of 18 residents as of 2004.
