Alcañiz is a town and municipality situated in the Teruel province within the autonomous community of Aragon, Spain. It is located on the banks of the Guadalope River.
The town serves as the unofficial capital of the Lower Aragon historical region. Geographically, it is positioned approximately 113 kilometers (70 miles) from the provincial capital of Teruel and 92 kilometers (57 miles) from Zaragoza, which is the capital of the Aragon region.
