Sorvilán is a municipality in the province of Granada, in the autonomous community of Andalusia, southern Spain. It is located in the coastal comarca of the Costa Tropical, on the southern slopes of the Sierra de la Contraviesa, a range that forms part of the broader Penibetic system between the Mediterranean coast and the Alpujarras.
The municipality is made up of several small population centres rather than a single compact town, including Sorvilán itself along with the villages of Alfornón, Melicena and Los Yesos. Melicena and Los Yesos sit close to the Mediterranean shoreline, while the inland hamlets lie higher on the hillsides amid terraced land used for almonds, olives and vines.
As of 2010, Sorvilán had a population of 614 inhabitants. Its economy has traditionally been based on agriculture, particularly the cultivation of almonds and grapes, together with limited coastal activity. The area is reached mainly by road from the nearby coastal towns of the Granada coast.
