Montecorto

Spain

Montecorto is a town and municipality in the province of Málaga, part of the autonomous community of Andalusia in southern Spain. It is located in the Andalusian interior, within the comarca centred on the nearby city of Ronda.

The municipality was separated from the municipality of Ronda on 17 October 2014, becoming an independent local entity on that date. Before then, the settlement formed part of Ronda's municipal territory.

Montecorto is the antipode of the town of Birkenhead and of Chatswood in Auckland, New Zealand, meaning those places lie at the point on the globe diametrically opposite to Montecorto.
