Loja, formerly known as Loxa, is a town located in southern Spain within the Andalusia region. It is situated at the western limit of the province of Granada.
The town is positioned in the valley of the River Genil and is overlooked by the Sierra de Loja. The highest peak in this range is Sierra Gorda, which reaches an elevation of 1,671 metres above sea level.
