Guadalcazar

Spain

Guadalcázar is a municipality in the province of Córdoba, in the Andalusia region of southern Spain. It lies in the Guadalquivir valley area of the province, within the comarca of the Campiña Sur, and forms part of the wider municipal landscape surrounding the city of Córdoba.

Like many settlements in this part of Andalusia, Guadalcázar is a small, rural municipality whose economy and daily life are tied to the surrounding agricultural countryside. The province of Córdoba is known for its hot, dry summers and mild winters, a Mediterranean-continental climate that shapes the farming patterns of the region.

Guadalcázar is one of a number of municipalities bearing similar place names in Andalusia, and it should not be confused with other localities of the same or similar name elsewhere in Spain. Its administrative status is that of a municipality (municipio), the basic unit of local government in Spain, within the province of Córdoba.
