Cijuela is a municipality in the province of Granada, in the autonomous community of Andalusia, southern Spain. It lies within the Vega de Granada, the fertile plain surrounding the city of Granada, roughly ten kilometres west of the provincial capital.
The municipality is small, with a population recorded as 2,009 inhabitants in the 2005 census. Its economy has traditionally been based on agriculture, particularly the cultivation of crops on the irrigated flatland of the Vega.
Cijuela is one of several small settlements in the comarca of the Vega de Granada, connected to Granada and neighbouring towns by road and by the area's local rail services. It shares the characteristic landscape and climate of the Granada plain, with hot summers and mild winters.
