Spain

Chucena is a town and municipality in the province of Huelva, in the Andalusia region of southern Spain. It lies within the comarca (district) of El Condado, in the eastern part of the province near its border with the province of Seville.

According to the 2005 census, the municipality had a population of 2,044 inhabitants and covered an area of 26 square kilometres. The town is situated in a largely agricultural landscape typical of the Lower Guadalquivir area, surrounded by fields and gently rolling terrain.

Chucena is one of a number of small municipalities that make up the El Condado district, a rural area of Huelva characterised by farming and a dispersed pattern of settlements. Its modest size and inland location distinguish it from the coastal towns of the province.
