Castaras

Spain

Cástaras is a municipality in the province of Granada, in the autonomous community of Andalusia, southern Spain. It is a small, sparsely populated settlement typical of the rural villages found in Granada's mountainous interior.

According to the 2005 census conducted by Spain's National Statistics Institute (INE), Cástaras had a population of 251 inhabitants. This figure reflects the municipality's status as a minor, low-population administrative unit within the province.

As a municipality, Cástaras holds the legal and administrative status granted to local entities in Spain, with its own local government. Beyond its location in Granada and its recorded population, few widely documented details distinguish it among the many small municipalities of the Andalusian region.
