Cájar is a municipality and town in the province of Granada, in the autonomous community of Andalusia, southern Spain. It lies in the Vega de Granada, the fertile plain surrounding the city of Granada, close to the Sierra Nevada foothills.
According to the 2005 census (INE), Cájar had a population of 4,051 inhabitants. The town forms part of the metropolitan area of Granada and is one of the smaller municipalities in the comarca of the Vega de Granada.
