Benahadux is a municipality in the province of Almería, within the autonomous community of Andalusia in southern Spain. It lies in the lower Andarax river valley, a short distance inland from the provincial capital, Almería.
The area sits in one of the driest parts of Europe, and its surroundings are characterised by arid, semi-desert landscapes typical of the Almería region. Like other settlements in the Andarax valley, it has traditionally been associated with irrigated agriculture made possible by the river and its network of channels.
As a municipality, Benahadux forms part of the wider comarca around Almería and shares in the administrative structures common to Andalusia's local government. It remains a small, predominantly rural community within the province.
