Arenas is a municipality in the province of Málaga, in the autonomous community of Andalusia in southern Spain. It lies within the comarca of Axarquía, in the northwest of that area, between the sierras of Tejeda and Almijara and the Castle of Bentomiz.
By road, Arenas is situated 12 kilometres from Vélez-Málaga, 50 kilometres from the city of Málaga and 577 kilometres from Madrid.
