Algar is a municipality in the province of Cádiz, in the Andalusia region of southern Spain. According to the 2005 census, it had a population of 1,644 inhabitants.
The town sits at an altitude of 212 metres and forms part of the White Towns of Andalusia, the group of settlements in the region known for their whitewashed buildings.
