Abla

Spain

Abla is a municipality in the province of Almería, in the autonomous community of Andalusia in southeastern Spain. It lies in the interior of the province, within the wider Andalusia region that covers much of southern Spain.

Historically, Abla was a bishopric, and it remains a Latin Catholic titular see — a title assigned to a bishop without an active diocese of its own. This status reflects the town's ecclesiastical significance in earlier periods.

As a municipality, Abla forms part of the local administrative structure of Almería province, alongside its religious-historical role as a former bishopric and current titular see.
