Selaya

Spain

Selaya is a municipality located in the autonomous community of Cantabria, in northern Spain. It lies inland within the region, in the comarca of the Pas and Pisueña valleys, an area of green, hilly terrain typical of Cantabria's interior.

Like other municipalities in the region, Selaya is a small, rural administrative unit centred on a main village, with surrounding hamlets and open countryside. Its setting in the Cantabrian valleys places it within a landscape of pastures, wooded slopes and traditional livestock farming.

Selaya is one of the many municipalities that make up Cantabria, a single-province autonomous community on Spain's northern coast. The region is known for its Atlantic climate, with mild temperatures and frequent rainfall, which shapes the character of its inland villages.
