Arredondo is a municipality located in the autonomous community of Cantabria, in northern Spain. It is one of the small municipalities that make up the Cantabrian interior, a region characterised by its rural landscape and scattered settlements.
According to the 2007 census, Arredondo had a population of 569 inhabitants. This figure reflects the modest size typical of many municipalities in Cantabria, where populations are often distributed across several small villages and hamlets rather than concentrated in a single urban centre.
As a municipality, Arredondo forms part of the local administrative structure of Cantabria, one of Spain's seventeen autonomous communities. Its small population and inland setting place it among the many quiet, sparsely populated districts that define much of the region's rural character.
