Tineo is a concejo, or municipality, located in the Principality of Asturias in northern Spain. It is situated on a small tributary of the Narcea River.
The municipality holds the distinction of being the second-largest in the region of Asturias. It shares borders with several neighboring municipalities: Valdés to the north, Cangas del Narcea to the south, Villayón and Allande to the west, and Salas, Miranda, and Somiedo to the east.
