Colunga is a municipality in the Principality of Asturias, an autonomous community in northern Spain. It is situated on the Cantabrian Sea, giving it a stretch of coastline along Spain's northern Atlantic shore.
The municipality is bordered to the west by Villaviciosa, to the south by Parres and Piloña, and to the east by Caravia. These neighbouring municipalities place Colunga within the eastern-central coastal area of Asturias.
