Metauten is a town and municipality in the province and autonomous community of Navarre, in northern Spain. It is situated in the north of the country, within the historic Basque-influenced region of Navarre.
As a municipality, Metauten comprises the town itself together with the surrounding rural area, which forms the basic unit of local administration in Spain. Navarre is an autonomous community with its own regional institutions, and its municipalities fall under that framework.
