Maranon

Spain

Marañón is a town and municipality in the province and autonomous community of Navarre, in northern Spain. It is one of the many small municipalities that make up this region of northern Iberia, which lies between the Pyrenees and the Ebro valley.

As a municipality, Marañón comprises the town itself together with its surrounding municipal territory, the basic unit of local administration in Spain. Navarre is a single-province autonomous community, so the town falls under both the provincial and regional administrations based in the regional capital, Pamplona.

Detailed information about the town's population, history, and landmarks is limited; it is best known simply as one of Navarre's many small settlements rather than as a major destination. It should not be confused with other places bearing the name Marañón.
