Bunuel

Spain

Buñuel is a town and municipality in the province and autonomous community of Navarre, in northern Spain. It is distinct from the French filmmaker Luis Buñuel, who shares the name.

Navarre is an autonomous community in northern Spain, bordering France to the north. Buñuel is one of the many municipalities that make up the province, which is known for its diverse landscapes ranging from the Pyrenees mountains to the Ebro river valley.

As a municipality, Buñuel encompasses the town itself along with any surrounding rural territory under its administration. Like many small towns in Navarre, it forms part of the region's network of local administrative units, each with its own municipal government. The town is situated in a region with a strong cultural identity tied to both Spanish and Basque traditions, reflecting Navarre's position as a historical crossroads between the Iberian Peninsula and the rest of Europe.
