Becerril de la Sierra is a municipality in the autonomous community of Madrid, in central Spain. It lies within the Community of Madrid rather than in the province or city of Madrid proper, and it is one of the many small municipalities that make up the region's northern sierra area.
The town sits in the foothills of the Sierra de Guadarrama, the mountain range that rises north of the city of Madrid and separates the Madrid region from the neighbouring province of Segovia. This location gives Becerril de la Sierra a higher elevation and a cooler, more mountainous setting than the plains around the capital.
Like other settlements in the Guadarrama foothills, it is a small residential municipality whose character is shaped by its mountain surroundings and its position within the Madrid region. It should not be confused with other places in Spain that share the name Becerril.
