Badr is a satellite city located in the Eastern Area of Cairo, Egypt. It was established in 1982 following Prime Ministerial Decree 235/1982, which allocated 3,000 acres of land in the Eastern Desert along the Cairo-Suez Highway for development.
The city is planned and administered by the New Urban Communities Authority (NUCA). Since its founding, the area has expanded to encompass 21,000 acres. It features a significant industrial zone of 2,200 acres, which currently houses 564 factories with an additional 501 factories under construction.
