Salinas is a coastal city located in the Province of Santa Elena in Ecuador. It serves as the seat of the canton that bears its name and holds the distinction of being the westernmost city on mainland Ecuador. The area is recognized as an important tourist center and functions as the country's largest coastal resort.

The region is known for a high-end beach lifestyle and offers one of the most prominent real estate investment markets in the nation. Salinas hosted the ISA World Junior Surfing Games Ecuador in 2009. The area also features significant maritime infrastructure, including two major yacht clubs: the Salinas Yacht Club and the larger Puerto Lucia Yacht Club located in the "La Libertad" district.
