Weiden in der Oberpfalz is a district-free town situated in the Bavaria region of Germany. Geographically, it is positioned approximately 100 kilometers east of Nuremberg and 35 kilometers west of the Czech border.
The town holds significance as the second largest municipality within the governmental district of Oberpfalz, following Regensburg. Additionally, the town serves as a location for a branch of the German Army.
