Hof is a town located in the northeastern corner of the Upper Franconia region within the German state of Bavaria. Situated on the banks of the Saale river, the municipality sits in close proximity to the Czech border and is nestled within the forested regions of the Fichtel Mountains and the Franconian Forest upland.

The town has a population of 47,296 inhabitants, while the surrounding district contains an additional 95,000 residents.
