Freudenberg is a municipality in the Amberg-Sulzbach district, in the state of Bavaria, Germany. It lies in the eastern part of Bavaria, in the region known as the Upper Palatinate.
The town is situated approximately 10 kilometres north-east of Amberg, the nearest larger city and the administrative seat of the surrounding district. Its position places it within the broader Franconian and Upper Palatinate landscape of southern Germany.
As a municipality, Freudenberg forms part of the local administrative structure of the Amberg-Sulzbach district. It should not be confused with other places of the same name in Germany.
