Remolino is a town and municipality located in the Magdalena Department of Colombia. The settlement was founded between 1752 and 1776 by Fernando de Mier y Guerra during the colonial period. It was formally erected as a municipality in 1814.
The town occupies a relatively minor position within the Magdalena region of northern Colombia, with its administrative status dating to the early independence era of the country.
