Granada

Colombia

Granada is a town and municipality in the Cundinamarca Department of Colombia. It is one of the many municipalities that make up this department in the country's central interior.

Cundinamarca surrounds the national capital, Bogotá, and Granada lies within this Andean region of Colombia. The municipality shares its name with several other places in the Spanish-speaking world, including the better-known city of Granada in Spain and Granada, Nicaragua, but it is a distinct Colombian locality.

As a municipality, Granada serves as a local administrative unit encompassing both the town itself and the surrounding rural area. It is located in the interior highlands of Colombia, a region characterized by mountainous terrain and a temperate climate typical of the Andean zone.
