Monterrey is a town and municipality located in the Department of Casanare in Colombia. Situated approximately 105 kilometers southwest of Yopal, the departmental capital, it forms part of the administrative divisions of the Casanare region in the eastern portion of Colombia.
The municipality operates as a local administrative entity within Casanare, a department known for its position in the Colombian eastern lowlands.
