Sucre is a department (administrative region) located in the Caribbean Region of Colombia. It is situated in the northern part of the country, bordered by the Caribbean Sea to the northwest, Bolívar Department to the east, and Córdoba Department to the west.
The department covers an area of 10,670 square kilometers (4,120 square miles), making it the 27th largest department by area in Colombia. With a population of 904,863 residents, Sucre ranks 20th among Colombia's 32 departments by population.
