Zhuhai is a resort city situated on the eastern shore of Zhongshan Island in the central coast of southern Guangdong, China. Located on the southeastern edge of the Pearl River Delta, the city sits on the west bank of the Pearl River estuary near Macau. The name Zhuhai literally translates to "pearl sea," a designation derived from its geographic position at the mouth where the Pearl River meets the South China Sea.
