Tai'an is a prefecture-level city located in the Western Shandong Province of the People's Republic of China. The city is geographically situated and centered around Mount Tai, a site of significant prominence.
The city shares borders with several other regions: Jinan lies to the north, Zibo to the east, Linyi to the southeast, Jining to the south, and Liaocheng to the extreme west. To its west, the city is separated from the neighboring province of Henan by the Yellow River.
