Jinxi is a town in China under the administration of Qianjiang District, which forms part of the municipality of Chongqing. It is one of the district's subordinate townships, situated within Chongqing's southeastern area rather than in the central urban core of the municipality.
Administratively, the town is divided into one residential community and seven villages. This structure, recorded as of 2018, reflects the typical organisation of a Chinese township, in which a small urban or semi-urban settlement serves as the seat of local government for a surrounding group of rural villages.
Qianjiang District, to which Jinxi belongs, is one of the districts of Chongqing and lies in the southeastern portion of the municipality. The district is home to a predominantly Tujia and Miao population, and its terrain is mountainous. Jinxi itself is a minor administrative unit within this larger district, and detailed information about its economy, population and history is limited.
