Haiyang is a coastal city in Shandong province in eastern China, located on the southern Yellow Sea coast of the Shandong Peninsula. It is a county-level city under the administration of the prefecture-level city of Yantai.
The city's name translates directly from the Mandarin "yang" (阳), meaning the sunny or south-facing side, of the "ocean" (海). Haiyang was the host city for the 2012 Asian Beach Games.
