Baisha

China

Baisha Li Autonomous County is one of six autonomous counties in Hainan, China. It is located in the central part of the province, an inland, largely mountainous area rather than on the coast.

The county is named for the Li people, who make up the majority of its residents. In 1999 its population was recorded at 176,377 people, largely made up of the Li ethnic group.

As an autonomous county, Baisha holds a designated administrative status within Hainan intended to reflect the concentration of the Li population in the area.
