Changjiang is a city in Guangdong Province, in southern China. It lies in the western part of the province, in an area bordering the South China Sea. The name is shared with the Chinese name for the Yangtze River, but the city is a separate place and is not located on that river.
Like much of western Guangdong, the area around Changjiang has a subtropical climate, with hot, humid summers and milder winters. The city serves as a local administrative and market centre for the surrounding agricultural district, which produces rice and tropical crops such as sugarcane and fruit.
Changjiang is connected to other parts of Guangdong by road and by rail links running along the province's western corridor. It remains a relatively small city by Chinese standards, and is not widely known as a tourist destination.
