Dongchuan District is one of the seven districts of Kunming, the prefecture-level capital city of Yunnan Province in the People's Republic of China. It is located in Yunnan, in the country's southwest.
The district was approved to be formed from the former Dongchuan City by the State Council on December 6, 1998. It has since existed as a district under Kunming's administration rather than as a separate city.
